The search for new nurses has left many hospitals looking high and low for recruits. In El Paso, TX, they don’t need to look far at all.
A new program at El Paso Community College is turning paramedics, who already have an existing medical knowledge base, into RNs. There are 27 students enrolled in the first class that expects to bolster the low numbers of nurses in the area. Experts estimate that nearly 400 new nursing positions will be created in the city in 2008 alone.
The program is designed with a paramedic’s unusual schedule in mind, as much of the coursework is offered online. To further help the students, Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grade, a workforce development board, is providing $154,000 in scholarships.

I’m impressed, I have to say. Very rarely do I encounter a blog thats both informative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your opinion is important; the matter is something that not a lot of people are speaking intelligently about. I’m really happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.

I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.

We all know formal testing of e-cigs has not been done. However, the idea that the FDA should ban these devices pending studies is asinine. It doesn’t take an FDA bean-counter in the pockets of Big-Pharma and Big-Tobacco to determine that e-cigs ARE, in fact, a healthier delivery system for nicotine than regular cigarettes, and the anecdotal evidence that MANY people are becoming ex-smokers as a result of using e-cigs is mounting quickly day-by-day. I have switched from cigarettes to e-cigs completely, and without discomfort or inconvenience. E-cigs are the best thing to come along for smokers since the invention of the Zippo lighter, and they simply MUST be kept available, studied, and eventually promoted as the new nicotine enjoyment paradigm!.
