Fran becomes a star

Don’t let Hollywood fool you; making a movie is hard work. Fran, the Stressed Out nurse, recently made her cinematic debut. Maybe you’ve seen it? If not, click the link at the bottom of this story and get ready to chuckle. Anyway, we were able to negotiate with Fran’s “people” and get a quick interview with the new star.

Because of Fran’s busy schedule, we only got a few minutes of her time. Luckily, she’s always pretty frantic (which is her given name, by the way), so she was able to squeeze a lot into our conversation. Here’s what she had to say:

Us: Hello, Fran. Thanks for taking a few minutes to join us.
Fran: Hi, thanks, it’s nice to be here. I only have a few minutes, though. I have like 59 things to do this morning. I have to wash my car, buy a gift for my new niece, finish all this homework, and . . .

Us: Okay. Sorry to interrupt, but we have a few questions we’d like to get in. First, how did it feel to be on camera? Were you nervous?
Fran: No, not really. I mean, I was trying to work, you know?

Us: Wait, you were really working?
Fran: Yeah, it wasn’t staged or anything. It’s for this new reality show. There’s this camera following me around as I’m starting my nursing career. It’s pretty nerve-wracking. I was so stressed. My pager was going off. There were patients everywhere, and . . .

Us: Yup, we’ve seen it. Anyway, is there a name for this reality show?
Fran: No, not yet. Maybe they’ll call it “The Fran Files,” or “The Stress Hour.” But if they called it “The Stress Hour,” would people want to watch? I mean, I watch TV to relax. Maybe I should watch more TV. Can I get another coffee by the way?

Us: Sure thing. Here you go. So, after seeing yourself on screen, what did you think? What was your favorite part?
Fran: Well, I didn’t really like the way my hair looked. I seriously need to lay off the hair spray. But, otherwise, I thought it was pretty good. I liked the part when the unhelpful woman I was calling hit her head on the microphone. What was that!? It was so random . . .

Us: So, it seems like this is all still in its early stages. Will you be in any more clips like this in the future?
Fran: Yes, I think so. The camera crew comes and goes, but I figure they’ll show up again soon. I guess it all depends what I’m doing. I can tell you one thing, though. You can’t accuse me of ever being boring.

Us: No, we certainly can’t do that. Okay, Fran, we’ll let you get going. We know you have a lot to do. Thanks for stopping by.
Fran: Thanks. It was nice chatting. See you around. Hey, did you ever think of what that statement means? Around where? It really makes no sense if you think about it. Shouldn’t it just be “See you?” You never really hear anyone say that anymore . . .

Us: Bye, Fran.
Fran: Oh, right, bye.
