When you enter the nursing workforce, certain realities come with the territory. What are some of the “surprises” new nurses face? Here’s a list you may encounter:
- Mandatory overtime. Some facilities routinely require overtime.
- Required floating.
Many hospitals require float days, where you are sent to unfamiliar units to cover staffing shortages.- No lunch breaks.
Eat when you can, because you won’t get a full 30 minutes most days due to the nature of the work.- Working on your days off.
Call-ins are common when understaffing occurs. This can be avoided by unplugging your phone.

I’m impressed, I have to say. Really seldom do I encounter a blog that’s both informative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your blog is outstanding; the issue is something that not a lot of people are speaking intelligently about. I’m very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this. Happy New Year 2011!

Great job here. I definitely enjoyed what you had to say. Keep heading because you undoubtedly bring a new voice to this subject. Not many people would say what youve said and still make it interesting. Properly, at least Im interested. Cant wait to see extra of this from you.

I think you have created many rather fascinating points. Not as well many others would actually think about this the direction you just did. I am truly impressed that there is so much about this subject that has been uncovered and you made it so nicely, with so considerably class. Brilliant one, man! Very special things right here. Wish you 2011 Happy New Year!

I have smoked for 30 years and nothing has helped me to quit. The day I recieved my electronic cigarette, I was able to quit. Nothing compares to this product and I have shared it with 5 friends(also long term smokers unable to quit), 5 out of 5 have quit. This is the best way for smokers to quit period.
