The holiday shopping season is upon us, and looking for the perfect gift has you tossing and turning at night. It can be such a hassle sometimes. Of course, there are always the old stand-bys like socks, oversized sweatshirts, and those adorable pink bunny outfits. But, why not try something new this year?

The average salary for a staff nurse in the United States is $41,642, according to Allied Physicians, Inc. Did you ever wonder, in one lump sum, what you could do with that money? Well, we did.

Here are the top 10 things we came up with:

  1. You could buy 1,041 pairs of professional style Crocs at $39.99 apiece. You could wear a new pair everyday for almost three years.
  2. If you happen to be in the Melbourne, Australia, area, you could buy yourself and seven of your closest friends a first class seat ($5,199) on a flight to Antarctica. You might want to pack a scarf.
  3. You could purchase 1,388 copies of Stressed Out About Your First Year of Nursing from HCPro, Inc. You wouldn’t have a care in the world. Other than the fact that you just spent more than 40 grand on a book.  But don’t worry; we’d give you a good discount.
  4. For all those naps you are going to take from all that studying, you could buy 378 Pawleys Island Deluxe XL Rope Hammock from www.hammocks.com. The hammocks start at $109.99 apiece.
  5. If you are a football fan, you could buy a ticket for you and seven of your nearest and dearest friends to watch Super Bowl XLI down in South Florida on the lower level of Dolphin Stadium between the 30- and 50-yard line. Tickets go for a cool $4,770 apiece. You’d still have an extra $3,482 to spend on hot dogs, nachos, and all the foam fingers you could carry.
  6. You could buy two identical yellow Volkswagen Bugs-complete with 6-speed automatic transmission, a satellite radio, a 6-disc CD changer, a rear spoiler, and four rubber mats-from VW. The sticker price is $20,337.
  7. You could purchase 106,774 stamps at 39 cents apiece. Just think of all the holiday cards you could mail this year.
  8. The good news: It’s enough for one year at Harvard University ($33,709). The bad news: You’d need a little extra money to live on campus ($9,946).
  9. Looking to make friends fast? Pick up 168 tickets to see Barry Manilow play in Las Vegas this month. VIP stage seating seats go for $247.50 apiece. And, honestly, who wouldn’t want a stirring rendition of “Mandy” running through their heads during the holiday season?
  10. You could buy 771 stars from the International Star Registry at $54 a pop. Shine on.
